Encourage pupils to be a TfL STAR at your school

The STARS Challenge is a Transport for London (TfL) Community project that’s designed to equip young people aged 11-18, with the confidence and skills to lead their peers and influence parents in tackling travel issues in their school community.

There are three core objectives to the STARS Challenge:

  • ACTIVE: Raise awareness of the environmental, health and wellbeing benefits of Active Travel and encourage more students to walk, scoot or cycle
  • RESPONSIBLE: Encourage responsible and respectful use of the transport network
  • SAFE: Increase Road Safety awareness in the school community

The project represents an ideal opportunity for any pupil wishing to increase their confidence and gain experience of presenting as part of a small supportive groups of their peers. From a school perspective too, it can fit well into the agenda of Eco Clubs, Green Societies and School Councils.

Recruitment for the summer term is currently underway and the limited places available are offered on a first come, first served basis. For further information, interested schools here in Haringey should email: tflsafetyandcitizenship@ltmuseum.co.uk by the February half-term holidays.
