Haringey Sixth Form College – opening of 3G pitch

At the beginning of term Haringey Sixth Form College unveiled its stunning new outdoor 3G pitch following extensive renovations during the summer.

The opening ceremony was attended by Spurs and Argentinian World Cup winner the legendary Osvaldo “Ossie” Ardiles and current first team player Harvey White, who cut the ribbon. Others present included members of the local community, business representatives and stakeholders.

The 3G pitch is one of many areas within the college to undergo major renovations recently.  The new pitch will be used to improve the physical and mental health of all students.

Haringey Sixth Form College students are national champions in basketball with 7 students gaining scholarships through sport this summer, including three full basketball scholarships in the US.

Spurs legend Ossie said:

“It is a privilege to be here opening this new football pitch just around the corner from our stadium. It makes me happy to know that it will help many local young people improve their football and lead healthy lives.”

Young midfielder Harvey added:

“The students here are all my sort of age and I really enjoyed meeting them today – taking the first kick of the game was an added bonus!”
