Do you know someone who is making a real different in your community during the coronavirus pandemic? The Mayor of Haringey Cllr Sheila Peacock has launched the Haringey Heroes Awards to celebrate Haringey’s unsung heroes.
Residents are encouraged to nominate someone who has helped them during the outbreak – it could be a volunteer, a bus driver, their local GP surgery, a family member, or anyone who has gone the extra mile to brighten up their day.
The nominated person may have helped with food shopping, picked up their mail, walked their dog or collected prescriptions – or even someone who has helped ease their loneliness by having regular conversations with them. You have until the end of August to nominate. All nominees will receive a certificate thanking them for their efforts to support the community during these unprecendented times. A badge of honour will also be awarded to candidates who have shown an outstanding contribution during the outbreak.
