EVOLVE is Haringey’s new electronic management system which must now be used for the recording, review and approval of all educational visits.
The system is set up to ensure that the educational visit co-ordinator for each school approves all visits, before approval by the head teacher and the chair of governors. Some visits will require final approval by Haringey’s Corporate Safety Team, including:
- visits outside England;
- visits involving strenuous activities;
- visits with overnight stays.
If your staff have not yet attended an EVOLVE training session, they should access training on FUSE before using the system. FUSE is a social learning platform where you can share, learn and collaborate (go to FUSE and search for EVOLVE).
All Haringey staff can access FUSE from the intranet page once they have registered. Email haringeyacademy@haringey.gov.uk and request a user ID and password for Haringey FUSE.
The educational visit co-ordinator must take ownership of EVOLVE and act as the responsible person for adding new users as required.
The benefits include a streamlined process, allowing a quicker turnaround for approvals, removal of paperwork and the ability to re-use loaded information for subsequent visits.
We advise against uploading personally identifiable data about pupils, and recommend a list of names should not include addresses and/or dates of birth for confidentiality reasons.
The final date for processing applications for educational visits by the Council’s Corporate Health and Safety Team on paper is Friday 26 May.
