What makes you happy? Art competition and community event

The Mayor of Haringey, Cllr Stephen Mann, has chosen mental health and well-being in Haringey as the theme for his mayoral year. He has selected Studio 306 and Mind in Haringey as the charities who will benefit from  his Mayor’s Special Fund, which will help to increase awareness of mental health and to raise much needed funds.

The Mayor is holding a competition for pupils from Haringey primary schools to design an A4 poster illustrating ‘What makes you happy’? The images should be black and white with the option to include a dash of any one primary colour.

Each school should select one winning entry and submit that poster to the Worshipful the Mayor at Mayor’s Parlour, Civic Centre, High Road, Wood Green London N22 8LE by the closing date of 20 December 2017.

Winning entries from schools will be displayed in the Civic Centre. The Mayor and his charities will judge the competition; the winning design will be converted into a print, which will then be made into a hand screened printed T-shirt which will be sold, with all money raised going to the Mayor’s Special Fund.

Prizes will be presented to the first, second and third prize winners on Thursday 29 March at the end of Spring Term during a community event to be held in Lordship Rec. All schools will be invited to attend this exciting event (More information to follow).

The Mayor will announce the winners on Friday 12 January 2018.
