Update your STARS School Travel Plans
Book a member of the Smarter Travel team now to help you to update your school travel plan.
- You need to collate all your walking, cycling, public transport, road safety and transport related curriculum activities by the end of June 2018.
- We are sending you the Moving up transition competition and booklets for all your year 6 students – together with lesson packs.
- Please complete your Hands up survey as soon as possible.

Are you ready for Walk to School Week? 21 to 25 May
Taking place during National Walking Month, this year’s Walk to School Week is 21 to 25 May. Living Streets want all schools to take part in their Five-day Walking Challenge and Happy Shoesday fundraiser. Visit their website (external link) for more information and activities to support and encourage your school community to walk more to school.
Haringey are sending Walk to School Week packs to everyone in Key Stage 2 who has agreed to take part. Please take plenty of pictures and make a big shout about it. Use Hari bear for Key Stage 1 if you did not buy packs. Email now for resources: Smarter.travel@haringey.gov.uk
Brake Kids Walk
On Wednesday 13 June thousands of children across the country will put their best feet forward to take part in Brake’s Kids Walk. The walk, co-ordinated by Brake, the road safety charity, and sponsored by Coop Insurance, promotes road safety and the health and planet-saving benefits of walking, whilst getting the children to raise awareness of important road safety messages in their community: foot paths, cycle paths, safe places to cross the road, slow traffic and clean air

Saddles and Soles Festival
The Saddles and Soles Festival will take place on Sunday 17 June in Finsbury Park. Please hold the date! There will be lots of free activities and fun for everyone. It is taking place on Father’s Day so please promote this. See more information on the Smarter travel page (external link).
