We are pleased to announce that schools can now join a new contract for water, wastewater and ancillary services with Anglian Water for Business, trading as Wave. Following the deregulation of the non-domestic water market in 2017, Haringey Council has entered into a corporate contract with Wave which schools are eligible to join.
The new Wave contract includes several benefits including:
- Value for money – contract procured at scale across London boroughs and other public sector organisations
- An educational pack for your school about water efficiency
- An online supplier portal to access and download invoices, raise queries and monitor usage
- KPIs for supplier performance including query management and invoicing.
Wave can also help your school save money on your water bills through several value added services including:
- A Water Footprint Assessment to help you understand your consumption
- Access to water efficiency measures and services including water audit surveys, leak detection and automatic meters.
The Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) compliant procurement was led by the London Energy Project (a collaborative Category Management resource led by Haringey Council) on behalf of London and South East local authorities and other public sector organisations and run by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS – a public sector buying group) though a YPO (Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation) framework.
How can my school join the contract with Wave?
If your school buys its energy through the Haringey corporate contract, you can also join the contract with Wave. Let us know if you are interested in joining by emailing an Expression of Interest to energy@haringey.gov.uk. We will be happy to assist in the registration process.
To note, your current supplier may object to the transfer if there is any debt on your account(s), so it is advisable to resolve any outstanding balances now to enable a smooth transfer to the new contract. Please therefore take the time to check your account balances with your current supplier, pay any outstanding invoices and/or provide remittance advice for invoices that have been paid but not allocated.
What if my school buys energy elsewhere?
At present, the corporate contract with Wave is only available to schools that purchase energy through Haringey’s corporate contract. If you buy your energy elsewhere, your school is free to set up an independent contract with a supplier of your choosing, including Wave, but will be on different contract rates.
