What matters most to Haringey’s young people? Encourage your secondary school pupils to take part in our Borough Plan pulse survey

Haringey Council is currently working on developing a new borough plan, which is our central strategy document that sets out our priorities for the borough from 2023 to 2027. As part of our work to develop the new borough plan, we are engaging with residents across all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life, to understand what life looks like for them now, how they want it to look in the future, and what we can do to achieve this.

We’re keen to involve Haringey’s children and young people in the process, recognising that they have a voice, and we need to hear it. This is why we’re launching a pulse survey next Monday 28 February with Haringey’s secondary school pupils. The survey will run until the beginning of May and will ask young people a set of questions focused on different aspects of their lives as young people who live, or go to school, in Haringey. The insights they provide will build upon the important feedback they provided in response to the Children Commissioner’s Big Ask survey last year, and the School Health Education Unit survey which has recently closed.

We’ll be emailing all Haringey secondary schools next Monday with information about the survey, as well as a link to complete the survey online. We would really appreciate it if schools could encourage their pupils to take part as much as possible – it’s a brilliant way for them to get involved in the council’s work and will pave the way for further participation for those who are interested in getting involved in the process again later this year.
