Delena says: I am not my Hair

Haringey schoolgirl Delena Thompson, aged 6, is spreading some love and light during this winter season with her debut book I Am Not My Hair.

Delena was just 4 when she was diagnosed with alopecia – a medical condition that causes hair loss, more commonly affecting adults. It’s Delena’s desire to raise awareness and understanding of alopecia through her book as well as stand in solidarity with people society sees as different.

Since the publication of her book, Delena has become a bit of a media star, and has been featured in The Metro, the Vanessa Feltz radio show and BBC London News. She has also been getting a lot of support and love on social media.

I Am Not My Hair is published by BlakJak Media. Visit the Young List Stars website to get a copy.
