Greig City Academy pupils are the bee’s knees

Greig City Academy (GCA) pupils in their eco and gardening clubs have been keeping themselves busy this past term by helping to improve biodiversity within the school grounds.

Having learnt a lot about the vital role pollinators play in sustaining resilient ecosystems and ensuring the world’s food supplies, the students have built beehives, and harvested their first batch of honey.

Supported by GCA’s teaching staff, Steve Porter, Sam Bird and Ben Hilmi, the pupils hope to one day sell their honey at Ally Pally farmers’ market, with all proceeds either going to charity or being reinvested in their bees/gardening projects.
