Each year in Haringey we mark Black History Month with pride – and this year, we are marking it by launching our brand new Black History Haringey 365 project.
This year – as well as a packed list of COVID-secure activities – we have created a permanent online hub where visitors can discover more about Haringey’s rich, black cultural heritage that can be shared throughout the year and not just for one month.
On our Black History Haringey 365 webpages you will find lots to explore: events, crafts, learning, quizzes, 600 years of Haringey’s black history and lots more.
Check it out at www.haringey.gov.uk/bhh365
The site also has a wealth of online black history resources for schools which can be found at www.haringey.gov.uk/culture/black-history/learning/schools. For more details about availability of resources, please contact the education team at Bruce Castle Museum. One of this year’s key events is an online talk about Oliver Tambo on Thursday 29 October. Full details are available on the events page.
There will also be exhibitions, story time and sing-along for pre-school children, online family entertainment and online workshops.
You can see the full programme of events available here.
