During the summer Highgate Wood School unveiled a giant mural of England and Manchester United footballer Marcus Rashford MBE.
Embodying the school’s principles and values in their ‘4Cs’ – Consideration, Contribution, Cooperation and Courtesy – the new wall art also contains an inspiring, motivational quote from Rashford himself: “Just look at what we can do when we come together.”
Highgate Wood headteacher Patrick Cozier tweeted the Manchester-born star directly as he thought Rashford “might like to know” that a giant mural of him was being painted in North London. Rashford duly quote retweeted a one-word reply: “Wow”, with a heart emoji.
Assistant headteacher Jen Burniston came up with the mural idea. She said: “After such a difficult year for all students nationwide, we felt we would like to honour the phenomenal contribution from Marcus Rashford to support students on Free School Meals.”
