Watch an Active Mile in action and win a visit from Sir Mo Farah

Active Miles are 15-minute initiatives that encourage children to get outside and walk, jog or run around a mile regularly, in the playground, around school buildings, or at a nearby park. Research on The Daily Mile, a popular example of an Active Mile, tells us that doing one reduces body fat, and schools report that it increases concentration and may even raise attainment.

Two Haringey schools are offering opportunities for you to come and see it in action:

  • Bounds Green Primary (Wednesday 8 May 09:00) and
  • Lordship Lane Primary (Thursday 16 May 09:15).
  • Please email Healthy.Schools@haringey.gov.uk if you would like to attend.

The Daily Mile is running a competition for one school to win a visit from Sir Mo Farah! If you are currently running  or  starting to run The Daily Mile, sign-up to the website, and return the short questionnaire by 31 May.
