Welbourne Primary School are proud that they have achieved the Bullying Intervention Group (BIG) Award for Excellence in Challenging Bullying for their fifth consecutive year. The BIG Award is given for excellence in bullying intervention. The award is both earned and evidenced: the criteria to be met spans all parts of the organisation in a whole school approach. Pupils from Year 5 accepted the award.
Val McFarlane, Director of Bullying Intervention Group said:
“This school works so hard to achieve this status. They include the pupils and parents in all their anti-bullying strategies, which include: a robust anti-bullying policy, a peer support scheme, regular staff training, anti-bullying awareness raising and monitoring and recording. No school can claim not to have any bullying, but Welbourne is aware that it can happen anywhere, and has a plan in place to nip it in the bud. I am so delighted to award Welbourne Primary School again this year. Keep up the good work!’’
Head teacher of Welbourne, Parveen Duggal said:
