International Day of Women and Girls in Science – Thursday 11 February

International Day of Women and Girls in Science is a global celebration of women who work and contribute to the major scientific findings that we see every day, in the past and in the future. It is celebrated every year on 11 February.

The day is an important reminder of the accomplishments of women and girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) careers and is an opportunity to promote full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls and to encourage equality in the STEM fields.
